ON 1 FEBRUARY hundreds of thousands of teachers, lecturers, civil servants and train drivers across the country struck in the biggest coordinated day of action for many years.
Over 6000 workers marched through Bristol following over 70 picket lines.
Trade unions are demanding pay rises that address the cost of living crisis. Inflation rates of more than 11% on top of a decade of pay freezes mean the real value of millions of public sector workers’ wages is lower than it was in 2010.
